Data ownership
Your client notes are sensitive. You should control them.
Client Log is built around data ownership. Your data is stored locally, readable, and exportable anytime.
What “you own your data” means here
- Local storage: data stays on your device.
- No account: nothing is tied to an identity.
- No lock-in: you can export and keep a copy.
- Portable exports: JSON and (Pro) ZIP/HTML/PDF-friendly exports.
- No tracking: we don’t collect usage data.
Exports: your safety net
Since Client Log does not sync to a cloud, exports are the reliable way to back up your work.
- JSON export (Free): clients + notes, readable and portable.
- ZIP export (Pro): includes photos, ideal for full backups.
- HTML/PDF-friendly export (Pro): creates a readable archive you can open and print.
This keeps you in control: no vendor lock-in, no subscription hostage.
What we don’t do (on purpose)
- No cloud database
- No account system
- No remote access
- No analytics dashboards
- No “AI analysis” of your notes
Many products monetize data. Client Log is built to avoid that entire category of problems.
Is this approach for everyone?
Not always. If you need:
- automatic sync across multiple devices
- team access
- centralized admin control
Then you probably want a cloud product. Client Log is designed for independent, solo workflows.
In short
You own your data.
Client Log stores your client notes locally and gives you exports you can keep forever.
